Testing an ebola vaccine
Reporting in The Lancet on Dec. 22, 2016, scientists say large-scale ebola outbreaks will be a thing of the past. Researchers conducted field trials on about 4,000 people in Guinea in 2015, who had been in contact with Ebola. No one got sick. The vaccine still must be approved by either the World Health Organization or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, but all are hopeful this will happen in 2018.
